Meet our Hypo Hounds Trustees

John Freeman (Chair)

John joined Hypo Hounds in January 2023.

His background is civil engineering and has owned and run an architectural and engineer practice for over 12 years.

John was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1989. Interesting John is still injecting his insulin but uses a Decom CGM. He is on the waiting list for the Omnipod 5!

John has a Cockapoo called Mabel. She is probably 95% Cocker and as mad a box of frogs! Her favourite trick is to put her front paws on your feet and let you walk her around!

Claire Springall

Claire is our most recent trustee and joined in January 2024.

Claire is the Lead Diabetes Specialist Nurse at the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Claire’s daughter has Type 1 diabetes so understands what our clients parents and families are experiencing.

Claire is a dog lover….

Andrew Davie

Andy joined Hypo Hounds in July 2023.

Andy has been a long term supporter of the charity.

Andy has a long and decorated career in the Army rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Andy brings with him a wealth of knowledge and organisational skills helping drive the charity forward.

Another dog lover, Andy isn’t fussy – he’ll take anything with 4 legs and a tail!!
